In studies conducted before the drugs were approved, patients taking lorcaserin for a year lost 3 % much more of themselves weight than did those taking a placebo, and patients taking phentermine lost 7 percent more of their body weight. The Approved by the fda 2 day diet pills reviews the drugs round the condition their makers conduct studies considering the drugs' heart risks. Waiting until such studies were carried out to approve the drugs would "delay effective therapy" for obesity, the FDA said.
Although obesity treatments are limited, Woloshin and Schwartz said they disagree using the FDA's decision to approve these weight-loss drugs so rapidly.
The harmful consequences of obesity develop over several years, Woloshin said. "The problems don't appear acute enough to wish rushing the approval of latest drugs," Woloshin said.
The authors also noted that research has not examined whether these weight-loss drugs reduce an individual's overall chance of dying or developing other chronic diseases.
As well as the additional studies requested by the FDA seem to be behind schedule: there's no evidence that protocols for that studies have been submitted, even if this submission was required eight to 16 months ago, the editorial said.
"Even if they were done on time, the studies werent planned 2 day diet pills to become finished until Four to five years from now," Woloshin said. That means "there's a really long time when these questions is going to be open," Woloshin said.
Until those scientific studies are completed, the authors suggest that the FDA change the labels of those weight-loss drugs, to produce clear there are concerns about the drugs' heart risks, the editorial said.
